Designed for the Tamiya Spitfire Mk.VIII/IX, this comprehensive conversion set provides the essential components to recreate the Spitfire Mk.XII, the first operational Griffon-powered Spitfire variant.

The set includes 32 precision 3D-printed parts, painting masks for two aircraft and detailed assembly instructions.

Painting masks

Masks are included for two aircraft:

• Spitfire Mk.XII MB840 – EB-J

• Spitfire Mk.XII EN625 – DL-K

Choosing the correct Tamiya base kit

The choice of base kit depends on the production batch of the Spitfire Mk.XII you wish to reproduce.

• Early-production aircraft (first batch): use the Tamiya Spitfire Mk.IX as the base kit.

• Late-production aircraft: use the Tamiya Spitfire Mk.VIII, which features the retractable tailwheel. Important: when using the Mk.VIII kit, the engraved wing fuel tank panel lines must be filled.

Assembly

This conversion requires only one straightforward cut to the original Tamiya kit, in the underwing area.

Detailed assembly instructions are included to guide you through the conversion process.
